Letter to the Government
Shark Bay
Dear the Department of Environment and Conservation for Western Australia,
We strongly believe that Shark Bay is a very important breeding ground for many unique and rare types of sharks and that many efforts should be made to keep it in wonderful condition and to protect it from pollution and damage. Many other species of marine animals also call Shark Bay home and thrive in its environment. If the care and upkeep of Shark Bay was discontinued many breeds of marine animals may become very rare or even extinct. Many holiday makers and builders wish to develop the Shark Bay area because of its beautiful landscape and views, it has a wonderful climate as well and attracts many tourists.
The Shark Bay holiday program also educates the public about the different and rare breeds of marine animals that live in the area. It educates people about how they can care and protect the marine animals and about how they can make a difference to the environment by doing simple things, like recycling and not littering.
In conclusion if the Shark Bay area was no longer funded and conserved many breeds of marine animals, including rare sharks and dolphins, would either become extinct or very rare. The constant maintenance of the Shark Bay area is a vital part of the survival of many breeds of marine animals.
Yours sincerely,
Jessica Casper, Hannah Whyte and Johanna Walsh.
